Rum-go and Rat Attack had a sausage night last weekend at Oneroa. Saturdays weather was perfect for a yacht. Even went swimming. The locals and other bay uses were treated to air horns, beats and a rowdy bunch of fellas late into the night. The trip home proved difficult as conditions picked up more than forecast and we found ourselves in 40 knot winds. Was fine until Rum-go's dinghy launched off a wave and flipped in the wind. It dumped 2 skimboards, a set of oars and a beer bottle or two. Cos I wanted my stuff back, I decided to drop sail and turn to chase after my stuff. After motoring round a bit I gave up and headed back home again with just a #2 up, Rat Attack following suit. Then after the dinghy flipped another 5 times in 5 minutes, I decided to head back to Oneroa from where we were, off Owhenaki, with Rat Attack following. We re-rafted up and discussed options, but with sick crew the decision was made to park the boats up and ferry home. Good weekend. I'll see if the pics work...
